The Gingerbread Man
Once upon a time, there was an old lady and an old man. They were sad because they had no children. One day, the old lady prepared a dessert. She prepared gingerbread. But the gingerbread was shaped like a little boy. The old lady imagined it was a real boy. She said to herself: “Ah this Gingerbread Man is adorable! ”
The old lady formed an adorable face: a nose, a mouth, and two eyes.
She baked it in the oven. “The smell is delicious! It must be finished!” said said as she opened the oven.
Immediately, the Gingerbread Man popped out! The Gingerbread Man was alive.
The old lady was very surprised! He walked and talked. He was like a real boy!
But he ran out the door. The old lady ran after him. She cried, “Stop! Stop, little Gingerbread Man! ”
But the Gingerbread Man did not stop. He ran and ran. He was very fast.
Then he made fun of the woman saying:
Run, run
As fast as you can
You can’t catch me
I’m the Gingerbread Man!
The old lady ran after him. The Gingerbread Man ran and ran.
Soon he arrived at a field. The old man was in the field with the cows. He saw the Gingerbread Man. The old man said, “Stop! ”
But the Gingerbread Man did not stop. He ran and ran and said:
Run, run
As fast as you can
You can’t catch me
I’m the Gingerbread Man!
The old man and the old woman ran as fast as possible, but they were slow.
A cow was in the field. It saw the Gingerbread Man and it was surprised!
“MOOOO! Stop! You look delicious!” said the cow. And the cow ran after him.
But it was impossible. Neither the old lady nor the old man nor the cow were fast enough.
The Gingerbread Man did not stop. He ran very fast. Then he said to the man and woman and cow:
Run, run
As fast as you can
You can’t catch me
I am the Gingerbread Man!
Next, a little pig arrived. The pig saw the Gingerbread Man. He said :
“OINK! OINK! What a splendid dessert! Stop little dessert! ”
But the Gingerbread Man did not stop. He ran and ran very fast.
A line of people and animals ran after him: An old lady, an old man, a cow, and a pig. He said to them:
Run, run
As fast as you can
You can’t catch me
I’m the Gingerbread Man!
He ran and ran.
Finally, the Gingerbread Man arrived at a river. It was impossible to continue. He stopped. The Gingerbread Man panicked. A line of people and animals was fast approaching! He had to cross the river, but it was impossible.
There was a crocodile was in the river.
The crocodile saw the delicious Gingerbread Man.
The crocodile said, “Get on my back, I’ll help you cross the river. ”
The Gingerbread Man accepted the crocodile’s offer. He was desperate to cross the river.
The crocodile and the Gingerbread Man started to cross. Then the crocodile stopped in the center of the river. He said, “The river is deep here. Get on my head. ”
The Gingerbread Man did not suspect anything. He got on the crocodile’s head.
The crocodile continued. But after a few seconds, he said, “Oh no! The river is very, very deep here. Climb on my snout. ”
Again, the Gingerbread Man agreed. He went on the crocodile’s snout.
Immediately, the crocodile opened his snout. The Gingerbread Man flew in the air. He fell down and CHOMP! The crocodile ate him.
And that was the end of the Gingerbread Man.
