Pyramus and Thisbe

A Greek Myth

 

Once upon a time there are two neighbors: a boy and a girl.

The boy is named Pyramus.

The girl is named Thisbe.

Their families hate each other. They are enemies.

One day, Pyramus hears a girl… but he does not see the girl.

The girl says, “Hello, my name is Thisbe.”

Pyramus hears her through the wall. Pyramus’s wall is connected to Thisbe’s wall.

Pyramus is surprised. He says, “Hello, my name is Pyramus.”

The conversation continues.  They talk and talk for a long time.

Finally, Pyramus and Thisbe are not enemies.

Thisbe is in love with Pyramus.

Pyramus is in love with Thisbe.

Pyramus says, “I love you. I want to see your face.”

He organizes a secret meeting. They agree to meet in the forest.

Pyramus arrives at the forest… but he does not see Thisbe. He sees a lion!

The lion is covered with blood.

Pyramus exclaims, “Oh no! Thisbe is dead!”

He panics. He commits suicide and falls dead.

At that instant, Thisbe arrives.  She sees Pyramus. He is dead!

Thisbe is devastated. She commits suicide and falls dead.
